When you buy a paver, send your paver story in! Commemorative pavers will line the Revenue Cutter Argus Promenade along the waterfront in New London, Connecticut, where the Museum
is currently under construction. Read some of YOUR Paver Stories below:

Paver story 1: ” I purchased this paver because the Coast Guard Reserve has had a lasting impact on my life and my family’s life. The people I’ve served with, the friendships built, and the experiences I’ve gained have shaped us in meaningful ways. Supporting the Museum is my way of giving back to the service that has given us so much and helping ensure future generations understand the Coast Guard’s mission, history, and service to the nation. Semper Paratus. ”

Paver story 2: ” As a Retired Coastguardsman, and Graduate of the USCG Academy (1972); My Wife and I, are Proud to be able to contribute a donation to the new CG Museum. And additionally have a Commemorative Paver added to the museum site confirming our support! ”

Paver story 3: “AHOY Coasties, Families and Supporters of all of our and your Legacy. I entered the USCG delayed enlistment program at 17.5 YO in 1975. I had not yet finished HS and The Viet Nam War was collapsing. My recruiter knew how much I wanted to join but took the time with me to explain that if I went home to have my papers signed by my loving Irish/American Immigrant parents, finish HS school with my diploma as proof and to enjoy my 18th birthday, he would hold my spot. A week after my 18th I was off and running forward to one of the Best decisions I had ever made. The sorrow of losing so many of our Patriot Veteran brothers and sisters and older friends from the hood in that tragic War, Never left me and I carry their spirit to this day, as we all should. Remember Never Forget all of Their sacrifice to allow us to live free and/or die. As Captain Wes Pulver said , the stories, service and our Sacrifices of all those that have served, finally will have a home that everyone so richly deserve. Long Live the US Coastie. I could not be any prouder to have served my Country, my Command and especially my Crew mates of the US Coast Guard and of course with you my loyal Coast Guard Family. God Bless You, God Bless our USCG and God Bless America. ”

Paver story 4: “As coasties, we often get recognized for our service and our contributions to the nation. But oftentimes, our spouses don’t get mentioned. Yet, they play such a critical role in the success and longevity of our careers. Without the sacrificial contribution of my spouse, I would have never accomplished what I was able to do for myself or for the Coast Guard. I want to make sure her name gets engraved for her contribution.

Paver story 5: ” I signed on at 17 yrs old in 1978 with a plan … I would do my four year commitment then get out, go to school for a degree, get a job , etc, etc. I never got out … four years became seven, then ten, then twenty-five. I regret none of it. Great jobs with great people, I almost always had fun doing what I truly enjoyed … being a public servant in a time that was not as positively recognized as it is today. I came “back in” after a five year break as a USCG civilian for 16 more years … another unexpected and rewarding segment of my life. I will remain proud of my service and contributions, however slight, until I take my last breath. My paver at the USCG museum will speak to my service thereafter. ”

Paver story 6: ” To honor my husband’s service, he has continued to serve veterans as a Veterans Service Officer since his retirement from the Coast Guard. He advocates on veterans issues to Congress, as well as his continued service to the American Legion, where he served as Department Service Officer for over 20+ years, and Department Commander and National Executive Committeeman for an additional 10 years. ”

Paver story 7: ” I was a flight mech on MH-65 , and was retired after my back surgery in May 2021. I what to give back to the USCG that helped me! “
