Big things are happening at the National Coast Guard Museum construction site in New London, CT. Significant progress is underway inside the structural steel frame as AZ CORP and their subcontractors continue installing key infrastructure, including conduit, piping hangers, and roof drains.

The next visible milestone will be the installation of a temporary weather enclosure around the first three floors. With below-average temperatures, this wrap allows crews to safely complete temperature-sensitive work like placing concrete on elevated floor decks and applying spray-on fireproofing,  a winter approach that was anticipated and built into the project plan.

Gas service has now been installed, allowing the building to be heated once enclosed and ensuring proper conditions for the next phase of work. As concrete placement is completed, interior systems will follow, and this spring we’ll see major progress on the building envelope – including glass, terracotta panels, waterproofing, and exterior wall systems.

We look forward to sharing more construction updates with you.
