In 1999, Congress designated May as National Military Appreciation Month, ensuring our Country takes the opportunity to publicly appreciate all service men and women, past and present. Throughout the month, we are reminded of their profound contributions to our Nation.

Not only do we pause on Memorial Day to remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice, but we also observe other military anniversaries and events, including Military Spouse Appreciation Day and Armed Forces Day.

As we join our Nation in celebration throughout Military Appreciation Month, we remain steadfast in our work to honor the Coast Guard with our Museum initiative. The Museum will be a home for all those who have served in the Coast Guard and will inspire future generations to serve our Nation.

Semper Paratus,

CAPT Wes Pulver, USCG (Ret.)
