$40 Million Construction Phase Approved

Dear Friends, Colleagues and Supporters, 

I am thrilled to report that earlier this week the National Coast Guard Museum Association (NCGMA) Board of Directors voted unanimously to release $40 million to A/Z Corporation to construct the National Coast Guard Museum building structure. It is a particular honor to provide this update to you on Flag Day, and I’m very grateful to receive the full support of the Board as we reach this milestone. We are eager to get the building structure in place, and soon we will see the Museum take shape on the New London waterfront. Indeed, this important milestone keeps us on track for an anticipated Museum Opening in 2026. NCGMA has been using a phased approach to construct the National Coast Guard Museum building structure to ensure the utmost fiduciary responsibility, aligning with the U.S. Coast Guard on this collaborative initiative. The building design was completed by award-winning Boston-based firm, Payette, and A/Z Corporation is the awarded contractor for construction management of the Museum. As we are on final approach to build and open this Museum, we remain steadfast in our appreciation of our many donors and supporters.
